The 15 Best Booths at Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2024 on Artsy

Inspired by a Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2024: A New Perspective on Artist Booth Displays

Recently, I saw some booths from a vibrant art exhibition in London, and it left me deeply inspired. The way the artists displayed their works in booths was truly fascinating—each one was thoughtfully designed to highlight the unique character of the artwork, while creating an immersive experience for visitors. The bold colors, clever lighting, and creative setups sparked new ideas for how we can think about presenting art in any space.

I wanted to share a few photos from the exhibition that showcase the incredible displays I encountered. From modern minimalism to extravagant setups, these booths were filled with inspiration for artists, collectors, and anyone passionate about interior design.

My favorite was Lehmann Maupin's booth. The artist Billy Childish gave a pre-performance right at the booth. This is a great idea, I also usually draw, when I take part in exhibitions, but not on such a large scale, of course. I have a lot to think about.
“Billy inaugurated our London gallery with an artist residency nearly five years ago, where he transformed the space into an active studio and developed a series of paintings,” said London-based Lehmann Maupin partner Isabella Icoz. “It’s part of his practice to work this way. He paints intuitively and fast-paced. Having him painting on-site today at his solo booth for our 20th year at Frieze felt like a natural fit and a lovely full-circle moment.”
